I seem to recall, just a few years ago, that the news media just reported the news. Today I can't watch the news without getting some imbecile's opinion about what happened. I don't want to know what Bill O'Reilly thinks about the days events, I just want to know what happened, that's it.

Why does this kind of thing get reported? I'm sure that there was something better going on in the world to talk about than this.

Re: What happened to the news?
Sat, June 23, 2007 - 6:54 PMI don't bother to watch the news. It seems to me to be too much about entertainment and sensationalism and drumming up this or that...I hate being sold to and I dislike being strung along and the whole bag of tricks the news media uses to boost itself and its concerns. Not a fan of TV much anyway except for hockey and documentaries. I think the news situation is unlikely to improve.
