I approve almost all membership requests for this tribe. This one didn't make it through, though. I wonder why. whipartist.livejournal.com/655544.html

Re: Whack-assed membership request
Thu, October 1, 2009 - 6:18 PMLOL, I read the posts in the link - very funny. I'm glad you were so kind.
Though it would've been fun to school this person here in this tribe on every single claim made. -

Re: Whack-assed membership request
Fri, October 2, 2009 - 9:48 PMthat was good for a laugh. You need to be schooled on a bible that he isn't literate enough to read or write about? Too damn funny. Then again..it's a great example of "there's a sucker born every minute" and..if they can't read, write or think for themself, they will follow what is told to them without question. In that case, you could have agreed, disagreed or ignored. I think to ignore, in your passive way with him/her was the proper choice, though..I don't agree with the philosophy of "if it works for you". The reasoning behind that? It gives one a permission, of sorts, to be ignorant and rude without concern of being held accountable for their actions.
However, I am guessing that it was just a kid, pretending to be an adult, trying to get kudos from their sheople champion of idiotic causes, so..best to ignore, lol.

Fri, October 2, 2009 - 10:20 PMThere's some interesting discussion in my LiveJournal about whether it's important to be polite to people like that. I almost always err on the site of politeness. -

Sat, October 3, 2009 - 6:45 AMI tend to thing two things in cases like this:
1) Freedom of Speech does not guarantee the Right To Be Heard.
2) If a person has a thing to say, why say it while alienating one's own audience? Flies and honey and all that...
